2020 Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival Canceled

17th June 2020

Organizers have canceled the 2020 Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival, slated for October 22-25, due to uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The next festival is planned for April 8-11, 2021.

Although there will be no festival in 2020, the foundation will continue to support the local culinary community through the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. The $ 100,000 fund, launched by the Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation in March 2020, was set up to help food service professionals who are targeting food due to the impact of COVID-19 on restaurants, bars, and others Businesses face extreme difficulties. In the past three months, nearly $ 90,000 has been distributed to deserving beneficiaries, with additional funding being given every week.

“The Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation is here to help local food companies and their employees who emerge every day to move forward in these uncertain times,” said Russell Kirkpatrick, co-founder of the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival. “They have been instrumental in growing the festival and developing our local culinary scene, and we want them to know we have their backs.”

With no opportunity to host a major event in 2020, the foundation will instead show appreciation for local restaurants by dedicating October 19-25 to celebrating the region’s food and beverage companies. Details will be announced in early August.
