The office of Governor Greg Abbott announced on September 16 that Ariat International, a manufacturer of apparel and footwear, is building a new regional headquarters and sales office in North Fort Worth.
The new 1 million square foot distribution center is slated to open this fall, according to a statement from Denton County. The headquarters is expected to create 75 jobs and make a capital investment of $ 40 million.
“The Texas model of low taxes, reasonable regulation and investment in labor continues to attract exceptional companies like Ariat, who ensure the Lone Star State remains a global economic powerhouse,” Abbott said in a press release. “Texas has a long tradition steeped in tradition and we are proud to build on that legacy and welcome Ariat to Fort Worth.”
According to the press release, Ariat International is a designer and manufacturer of “high quality riding shoes and clothing”. The company sells English and Western riding boots, work boots and casual shoes, among other things.
“Fort Worth is excited to welcome Ariat, Texas as the company joins our community for its latest expansion,” Mayor Betsy Price said in the press release We Are Attracting New Businesses and Relocations to Help the Texan Economy. ”
At the county level, the mission continues to attract large companies that offer the “perfect mix” of services, said Andy Eads, a Denton County judge.
Eads noted the success of the Fort Worth Alliance Airport and the BNSF Railway Intermodal Facility, both of which are also located in North Fort Worth and in the southern part of Denton County.
“We thank all of our partners with the city of Fort Worth and the state of Texas for working together to bring Ariat International’s western regional headquarters and distribution center to our region,” said Eads. “A company of this caliber brings high-paying jobs to our area, which is part of the mission of the Texas Enterprise Fund.”
As part of an incentive package to bring Ariat International to the region, the TEF provided a grant of $ 750,000, the press release said.
