Authorities Arrest Man Accused Of Setting A Family’s Home On Fire In Fort Worth – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A man was arrested and charged with arson after deliberately setting fire to a family’s home in Fort Worth last Sunday, according to authorities.
Christopher Davis, 28, was admitted to Tarrant County Jail Thursday morning for arson. He remains in jail on a $ 75,000 bond.
According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, crews responded to a house fire on Whittlesey Road on Sunday morning. Officials said there was a family inside at the time, but they escaped without injuries.
Officials said investigators determined the fire appeared to be deliberate and met the criteria for arson. It is unknown if the family and Davis know each other.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Davis was linked to the fire. On Thursday, officers from the Fort Worth Police Department and the US Marshals Service Davis served arrest and search warrants on a house in Forest Hill. He was arrested without incident.
“Fire that is used as a weapon, threat or intimidation will not be tolerated in Fort Worth,” said fire chief James Davis. “We will aggressively investigate and support law enforcement to the fullest extent of the law.”
