Cowell Leads Earthquakes Past Dallas 3-1 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Cade Cowell had a goal and assist on Saturday and the San Jose earthquakes beat Dallas 3-1.

Cowell split Dallas line with a through pass from midfield that led Cristian Espinoza into an open space to challenge the goalkeeper directly.

Espinoza ended the game with a chip shot in the left corner and gave the earthquakes a 2-0 lead in the 49th minute.

Cowell slipped through two defenders to get a left footed shot into the lower left corner that ended 3-0 in the 59th minute. It was the 17-year-old local player’s second goal and the second assist of his career at San Jose (1-1-0).

Oswaldo Alanis opened the goal for San Jose in the 34th minute with a penalty.

The local player Ricardo Pepi scored a putback for Dallas in the 79th minute (0-1-1).

Chris Wondolowski of the earthquake was sent off for a dangerous foul in the 89th minute.
