Destiny Monroe is a U.S. Army veteran who served eight years for her country. Now she is a software programmer, implementation specialist and certified personal trainer with her own brand called Raw Fitness.

Monroe turned the discipline she learned in the army into a new life to inspire others, such as her tens of thousands of social media followers, to get well.

“It’s really about transforming inside out and realizing that there are no quick fixes,” said Monroe. “The beginning of the year is coming and people are starting to talk about resolutions and how they want to be a new person. You have to imagine that it is more than that. Not only is it a solution for the moment, it has to be a lifestyle change so that you can keep it up. “

Monroe said it is all about mental and physical health, getting you where you want to be and dealing with it on purpose.

“Write words of encouragement on sticky notes and place them on your bathroom mirror. This has helped me so much in every type of trip I go through. Mentally or physically, ”said Monroe. “You have to dedicate yourself to that too. Be persistent. Set three alarms if you need to make sure to get up and move around before starting your day. “

She also had words of wisdom for people who say they don’t have time to exercise.

“If you make it a priority, you will find the time. I’ll never understand when people say they don’t have time for it, but I have time for it. Health should always be your priority, ”said Monroe.
