WASHINGTON – MIBO Fresh Foods LLC, a Fort Worth, Texas company, is recalling approximately 1,460 pounds of lettuce containing chicken products due to bad brands and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (FSIS) announced today.
The product contains anchovies, a known allergen that is not listed on the product label.
The ready-to-eat chef’s salad with chicken items was made on May 10th and 13th, 2019. The following products can be recalled:
9.65 oz. Transparent plastic packaging with the data on the label: “HEB MEAL SIMPLE CHEF SALAD with Homestyle Ranch Dressing” and “Best By” from May 18th, 2019 and May 20th, 2019.
The products that are subject to recall bear the company number “EST. P-27399 ”within the USDA approval mark. These items were shipped to retail stores in Texas.
The problem was discovered by a retail store when the mislabeled products were unpacked to be placed on the shelves of the retail store.
There are no confirmed reports of side effects from consuming these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a health care provider.
FSIS fears that some products may be in consumer fridges. Consumers who have purchased these products are encouraged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
