Fort Worth police investigate shooting with possible gang ties

According to police, a woman is in stable condition after she was shot in the head at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday in Fort Worth.

The woman, whose name was not made public, was driving around the 3200 block of New York Avenue in Fort Worth when she was shot dead in what police believe is a gang violence case.

She was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition as of 6:30 am Tuesday.

Police have no known suspects in the case, spokesman Tracy Carter said in an email. Investigations by detectives from the gang and gun violence department are ongoing.
