Fort Worth Promo Company Gets Funky to Support Restaurants – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
Fort Worth is known by a few nicknames – “Cowtown”, “Panther City” and “Funkytown”.
“It’s kind of like ‘Keep Austin Weird,'” said Lexi Milton, a promotional products expert. “It’s one of the things that we have as Fort Worthians. So it’s fun and obviously makes for really great graphic design.” So we decided to roll with it and own our city. “
And what Milton and her colleagues at HF Custom Solutions launched is a fundraiser with Funkytown Front and Center to support restaurant workers in Tarrant County.
“We hope everyone gets behind us and supports our restaurant colleagues because we know they are doing such a good job for us and we want to do a good job of serving them again,” said Milton.
The promotional products company is selling Funkytown printed T-shirts and hats with a goal to raise $ 5,000 for the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival Employee Aid Fund. The overall goal for the relief fund is $ 100,000.
The items are priced at $ 15 and $ 20, and $ 10 each will go towards the fundraiser.
“Each t-shirt comes with a free face mask that is adjustable and has a filter pocket that is comfortable and breathable,” said Milton as she demonstrated the items.
It is normal for the company to give back through in-kind donations or products, but this is the first time any item has been sold in support of a nonprofit.
“It’s an opening campaign,” said Milton. “We do what we do best by adding cool things to some items and selling them on our ecommerce website.”
The fundraiser runs until August 31st.
