Fort Worth water, environmental engineering firm expands to Tampa
Plummer Associates Inc., a water and environmental engineering company headquartered in Fort Worth, has announced its expansion into Florida with a new office in downtown Tampa.
Plummer’s new Tampa office will be led by John Keane, PE, PMP, and ENV SP, who will serve as area manager for Florida. Keane will oversee the company’s development and operations activities in the state to provide water and environmental engineering services to communities, water districts, sewer utilities, government agencies and private companies.
“We are excited to add John to the Plummer team as his technical expertise and national experience add to our banking strength in the areas of planning, design and construction of water resources, flood protection and stability, water / wastewater treatment, extraction and stormwater pumping Facilities, ”said Chris Young, PE, CEO of Plummer Associates. “John also shares our values and approach to serving customers and our commitment to retaining and attracting strong talent.”
The opening of the Tampa office supports Plummer Associates’ strategy of remaining privately owned and expanding geographic reach nationally. In 2019, Plummer Associates expanded into the Rocky Mountain region through the merger with FEI Engineering in Colorado.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to run Plummer’s Florida operations and work with some of the most talented professionals in the water and environmental industries. It’s inspiring to be part of a team that shares my passion for the water profession, ”said Keane.
Keane’s passion for helping communities secure clean water has taken him across North America, where he gained national experience to successfully implement a variety of challenging water projects, including projects in Florida, California and Texas. Keane earned his BS in Civil and Coastal Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a professional engineer based in Texas, Florida, and New Mexico and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
“I’m very excited to be back in the community where I grew up, met my wife, and learned to appreciate and understand the role of water in the beauty and lifestyle of our regions,” said Keane. “Major problems facing utilities include increasing population growth, stricter limits on discharge from sewer utilities, environmental restoration, replacement of aging infrastructure and resilience to environmental factors. We are now able to provide technical solutions for water utilities to maximize water efficiency. “
Plummer Associates employs approximately 170 people and had sales of $ 34 million in 2020. The company currently has ten offices in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Florida.
