Grand opening set May 20 at Rockwood Park Golf Course’s new clubhouse – Welcome to the City of Fort Worth

The opening of the clubhouse of the Rockwood Park Golf Course is planned for 10 a.m. May 20th. The public is invited.

The original Rockwood Park Golf Course opened for play in 1938. It was designed by golf course architect John Bredemus and then modernized by golf course architect Ralph Plummer. As of November 2015, the course was renovated for $ 5.1 million under the direction of the design team of John Colligan and Associate Trey Kemp. The renovation included a new routing plan with new greens, tees, fairways, bunker systems, drainage and cart paths. The course has been extended to play up to 7,053 meters.

While the recent renovation has improved the course significantly, the addition of a new clubhouse undoubtedly makes it one of the best urban golf courses in North Texas.

The new $ 7.7 million clubhouse was funded by the City of Fort Worth’s 2018 bond program. The design was led by Elements of Architecture and the construction by RJM Contractors.

The 16,379 square meter building has an upper level with a pro shop, grill, dining area, toilets and a multipurpose room. The lower level houses convenient car storage and repairs. The modernized maintenance facility includes new personnel areas, additional security and building improvements.

Rockwood Park Golf Course is located at 1851 Jacksboro Hwy.
