After Mamaka Bowls achieved success in Waco, he announced that he would be opening a third location on the 1701 River Run in Fort Worth.

Mamaka Bowls is a smoothie bowl shop that offers a diverse selection of smoothies, smoothie bowls and various espresso drinks. The name Mamaka is based on the first two letters of all siblings in the owner’s family: Macy, Mac and Karen. This was done to demonstrate the family character of the company.

Dallas Junior Kat Welch said she enjoyed Mamaka not only for the food but also for the atmosphere.

“I like going to Mamaka because the pods are so good and healthy,” Welch said. “Plus, everyone who works there is so cute and so much fun to get food and hang out with your friends.”

After opening the first store in Fayetteville, Ark., The company grew to become Waco and will now have its third location in Fort Worth.

Dobbs Ferry, NY, newbie Anna Prendi, said Mamaka has quickly become one of her favorite places in Waco.

“Mamaka is a cool place, I really love it,” said Prendi. “I honestly think it should be everywhere because it’s so refreshing but also beautiful.”

The new location is just a 3 minute drive from the TCU, one of Baylor’s biggest rivals. There is also a shopping mall around the new location and just down the street is the Fort Worth Zoo.

Baylor students who work at the Waco site also have positive things to say about the business. Tustin, Calif., Junior Megan Horn said she thinks Mamaka is a great place to work and she enjoys the casual atmosphere of the business.

“I like the money and the atmosphere,” said Horn clearly.

Sydney Lewis, another Waco employee from Houston, said she enjoyed working at Mamaka because she made good friends and learned skills that she could use later in life.
