Man Arrested For Shooting At Vehicle During Apparent Road Rage In Fort Worth – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A man was arrested after police said he shot a vehicle during an apparent incident in Fort Worth on Sunday evening.

Police said the shooting victim was driving on the 6500 block of the South Freeway at around 7pm when he saw the suspect “drove erratically” and apparently had “road rage problems” with other drivers.

Police said the victim and the suspect ended up taking the same exit onto the back road. The victim told police that the suspect “braked” him, which resulted in his hitting the back of the suspect’s vehicle.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Jimmie Simmons, got out and started shooting the victim’s vehicle. Police said the shots hit the windshield multiple times and the broken glass injured the victim. Simmons then drove away.

Police said Simmons later called them to report a “hit and run” after saying that someone hit the back of his vehicle three times. Through the investigation and after speaking with the victim, police determined that Simmons was the suspect in the shooting.
