New downtown Fort Worth hotel debuts near Sundance Square

Dallas developer Jackson-Shaw has opened a new hotel in downtown Fort Worth.

The 16-story, 252-room hotel is located on West Fifth Street near Sundance Square.

The hotel will be Tarrant County’s first AC Hotel by Marriott. It is managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

“The AC Hotel Fort Worth is designed for creative, well-traveled visionaries who appreciate thoughtful space,” Jackson-Shaw’s Joe Blewitt said in a statement. “The hotel has gallerylike art installations, a library, a quiet outdoor area and a bar that can also function as unconventional workspaces.

“Located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, the modern lifestyle brand is a hub for guests to discover the coveted local scenes and talent and make meaningful and authentic connections with each visit.”

The new hotel has a full service bar and coffee shop on the first floor.

Simmons Bank funded the project, which was designed by Merriman Anderson Architects of Dallas.

Austin Commercial was the general contractor.

The AC Hotel Fort Worth is one of the few North Texas hotels to open during the pandemic.

Jackson-Shaw is a nearly 50-year-old company that has built more than 60 million square feet of hospitality, industrial and residential projects.
