New England-Based Wing It On! Looks to Dip Into Fort Worth Market
A New England-based wing chain dives into the Fort Worth-Dallas market.
Wing It On! has signed an agreement to bring five locations to the Metroplex. While the restaurant is still being selected, a Wing It On! confirmed that at least one location will be in Fort Worth.
These will be the concept’s first locations in the region. Another location in Texas was opened in March on the Houston / Spring market. This is part of an overall plan that aims to secure 25-30 additional units by the end of the year.
“Texas is the number one growth potential right now and we want to take advantage of all the great opportunities the state has to offer right now,” said Matt Ensero, CEO and founder of Wing It On !, in a statement. “With this new deal, we can expand our presence in another key area of the state. I look forward to making more wing nuts in Texas. ”
The menu features a variety of wing and boneless tender sauce options, from honey mustard and Asian garlic to hot Nashville and mango habanero. Dry meals are also available, as are crispy chicken sandwiches, salads, side dishes, and customizable seasoned fries.
Ensero founded the restaurant in 2011. According to Wing It On !, the story goes, Ensero and friends would lead a debacle over “anyone who drove more than 30 minutes to get wings from some of their favorite spots in nearby towns to pick up. ” . “Commuting to work would leave cold, damp wings when they got home, which inspired Ensero to come up with his own concept and open the first restaurant in his hometown of Waterbury, Connecticut.
According to Wing It On !, take-out and delivery account for nearly 90% of store revenue, and only a small portion of the restaurant is reserved for dinner, which keeps overheads low. The restaurant also offers a mobile app and integration software for third-party deliveries, as well as a franchise option for food trucks.
