New Fort Worth music festival gets official okay for November dates

The River & Blues Festival, the opening of which was postponed from May 15-16 to November 13-14 due to the coronavirus pandemic, has received official approval from Fort Worth Mayor’s Office Betsy Price, as planned to continue, announced the organizers of the festival on October 16.

As with all in-person events these days, it will be a socially distant experience that includes pod viewing, cashless transactions, a face mask request, and other safety precautions. The number of seats is limited to 40 percent of the capacity of the Panther Island Pavilion.

The cast of the two day festival includes Charley Crockett, Maddie & Tae, Kody West, Bart Crow, Grady Spencer & the Work, Samantha Fish, Casey James, Courtney Patton & Jason Eady, Elaina Kay, Kirk House and more.

“In the last few months we have stepped down and evaluated all the options we were offered,” said festival co-founder Omar Ortiz in a statement. “With our experience and input from the city, we are sure that we can offer festival goers a great opportunity to enjoy a great festival experience while ensuring safety.”

The general admission area is divided into 10 x 10 pods with a limited capacity of 10 people each, which are filled daily based on availability. Pods are not shared between groups, which means that some Pods can only have two people. Guests are asked to bring blankets and chairs to put in their pods.

There will also be a VIP area near the stage with tables and chairs for ticket holders. Tables are set in groups of two to ten people and properly spaced according to social distancing guidelines. These are also available depending on availability. Anyone who buys a platinum ticket can reserve a reserved table.

The festival will also feature groceries available from a number of local establishments and food trucks, including Heim Barbecue, Cousins Maine Lobster, Kono Pizza, Melt Ice Cream, Big Kat Burgers, and The Beignet Bus.

Tickets for the festival range from $ 55 to $ 300 for day tickets and between $ 90 and $ 450 for day tickets.
