New golf entertainment venue tees up in North Fort Worth

After an uncertain year, a new golf-themed entertainment complex will finally open in North Fort Worth early next year.

BigShots Golf held its official topping-out ceremony on Wednesday, November 11th at its 12-acre recreational site near Texas Motor Speedway.

BigShots Golf in Fort Worth, which opened with 15,700 Golf View Dr. laid the foundation stone was originally planned for an opening in autumn 2020. The wait for golf enthusiasts and the occasional fun seeker is almost over as they can develop their game at BigShot Golf’s 56 Driving Bay early next year.

The entertainment venue’s proprietary software uses Doppler radar technology from FlightScope, a technology company known in the defense industry that provides projectile measurement products. BigShots Golf technology accurately captures and reproduces real ball flights.

The golf balls and clubs are unchanged – that is, they are standard balls and clubs that you can find on any golf course and that are not microchipped.

“This venue provides a great place for guests of all ages and abilities to enjoy everything from a Saturday night to a birthday party with all of their friends,” remarked Tony Wehner, CEO of BigShots Golf, at the event on Wednesday.

The venue also features 3D augmented reality technology and games. Previous plans had also announced around 300 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor putting green, a children’s activity center and a golf academy that can be practiced year-round.

A full restaurant and bar

A full restaurant and bar serving American cuisine and healthy options are also on the table. PB & Jam Burger and Cheddar Bacon Tots will be on the new menu.

The various cocktail options offered at the bar include watermelon mojito and the Blitz, which is made from sweet tea, vodka, lemon, and honey – a variant of the spiked Arnold Palmer.

Local beers from Cowtown Brewing Co. will also be available.

The Fort Worth complex is said to be the second BigShots golf location in the country.

The first BigShots Golf opened in Vero Beach, Florida. Construction is currently underway at a site in Springfield, Missouri. There are also plans to open a facility in Bryan, Texas next year.

O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC are the Fort Worth location franchise owners. The hotel company owns and operates a number of hotels, restaurants, retail and entertainment venues across the county.

O’Reilly Hospitality also owns a Marriott-branded hotel, golf course, and Paddock venue on Champions Circle, which is also home to BigShots.

“The addition of BigShots to our Marriott complex and golf course, along with the new paddock event barn, transforms the area into an exciting travel destination experience.” Tim O’Reilly, CEO and managing partner of O’Reilly Hospitality Management, had said in an earlier statement.
