Police arrest suspect in killing near Fort Worth, TX, park

Police on Wednesday arrested a suspect in an April murder on the edge of a park in northwest Fort Worth.

19-year-old Jonathan Banks has been booked on suspicion of murder in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Steve Espinosa on April 3, according to Fort Worth police.

Espinosa, who died in a limo, was among the two people shot near Lincoln Park on Northwest 30th Street and Lincoln Avenue, police said. Espinosa was shot in the head, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The police did not publicly describe a motive.

The 26-year-old man, who was also shot, was taken to a hospital and the police did not offer any information about his condition.

Banks lives in Fort Worth, as does Espinosa.
