Police Trying To Identify Man Who Fatally Shot Innocent Woman Outside Fort Worth Food Mart – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Fort Worth police are trying to identify a man who appears on a surveillance video shooting a woman at the Eastwood Food Mart on Wilbarger Street this weekend.
Officers said the victim, Sheri Hill, was an innocent bystander when she was shot dead Friday.
A friend of Hills, TC Wallace, said a memorial now in front of the market shows how much his friend was loved.
“The whole community is heartbroken,” Wallace said.
He said the two had known each other since childhood.
“I’ve known her since kindergarten, Pre-k,” Wallace said. “We’ve known each other a long time. She just liked to take care of the family. Take care of their children. “
Paula Warren, another Hills friend, said everyone knew Wallace and she was a good person.
“She’s been here all her life and it’s a tragedy,” said Warren. “She really is a good person.”
Fort Worth police believe Hill was an innocent victim of street violence.
The surveillance video showed a shooter running out of the Eastwood Food Mart at around 5:15 p.m. on August 16.
He appeared to be shooting a car, then Hill, as she left the market. She was shot in the upper body and taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
At this point, the police did not identify the shooter.
Hill’s friends just want justice to be served.
“It’s so hard to see them go,” said Warren. “It’s hard. It’s really hard.”
