Severe Storms Possible on Friday – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Thursday’s weather will be calm before the next storm, with widespread clouds and highs in the 60s. Some sprinkles are possible late Thursday afternoon. Otherwise most will stay dry.

That changes on Friday when an upper level storm system sweeps through the southern levels. The Gulf’s moisture will spread north, and this will create the conditions for the possibility of strong to severe storms.

A few showers and isolated storms will be possible on Friday morning, but storm coverage and intensity will increase from Friday afternoon through Friday evening. Storms are likely to hit the Dallas Fort Worth area between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM

There is little risk of severe weather on Friday afternoons and evenings across North Texas.

All types of severe weather are possible, including local heavy rain, noxious winds, hail and tornadoes. This type of weather is not uncommon for April in Texas. So be sure to stay weather conscious.
