Snazzy New Butcher Shop Brings Signature Sandwiches and Premium Steaks to Fort Worth — The Meat Board is Open

T.First announced last summer, the Meat Board – Premium Steaks and Provisions finally opened its doors this week to get 2020 into full swing on the Fort Worth food scene. Her motto is: “Not all meat is what it should be.” And the four partners behind this shop want to change that.

The premium butcher is located in the former seafood restaurant The Catch at 6314 Camp Bowie in the Lincoln Village shopping center in Fort Worth.

It joins few other boutique meat sellers in town, like Burgundy’s Local, which opened in 2014 as one of the first on West Seventh Avenue near the Museum District, and newcomers like The Butcher Shop at B&B in Clearfork and Fort Butchers – a delivery service with regular “meat drops”.

The partners who launched The Meat Board – Premium Steaks and Provisions bring a wealth of knowledge to the new meat port.

Don Rea, Dr. Ranzell “Nick” Nickelson, Patrick Nicholson and Sam Beebe have at least six degrees from Texas A&M University. They each have decades of industry experience, from butchering skills and food safety to livestock farming and doing business.

Their mission is to produce and deliver premium meat from their shiny new meat market. The Meat Board offers a variety of meats including custom beef, pork, chicken, lamb, veal, bison, and seafood cuts. In the meat case you will also find bacon, sausage and pre-seasoned chicken breast.

The in-house delicatessen shop is open for lunch between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Customers can enjoy sandwiches like the TMB Signature Steak Sandwich with sliced beef fillet, homemade blue cheese crumbs, TMB Special Sauce and salad on a sweet Kolache roll. Other sandwich choices include a Brisket Hoagie, what they call a Doggone Good Hot Dog, a BLT, and a Cheeseburger, to name a few.

For more supplies, visit The Meat Board, including side dishes, fresh bread and desserts made from scratch, deli cheeses, as well as a variety of condiments, jellies and salsas. The shop sells high quality cast iron pans, meat thermometers and private label olive oils. Gourmets can take away an individual sausage board for simple entertainment.

There is a separate, glass-enclosed meeting room called The Board Room, which is ideal for private meetings and parties. The room is also used to conduct on-site courses on food preparation, food quality and safety.

Customers will soon be able to order and ship products online through the Meat Board website. The opening times in the shop are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
