Verdict Reached in Chauvin Trial – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The jury has passed a verdict on the death of George Floyd in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. The verdict can be read late Tuesday afternoon.

Floyd died last May after Chauvin, a white officer, pinned his knee to the 46-year-old black’s neck for about 9 1/2 minutes, sparking global protests, violence, and an angry review of racism and policing in the US

The jury deliberated over parts of two days in a city on the outskirts against a further outbreak of unrest.
